[This is a copy of the call to action we’re sending out to get people involved making Wondering Heights a reality. Please get in touch using the email in the text if YOU want to become an Em-bush-ador!]
Good afternoon friends,
I’m really excited to be able to share the project Wondering Heights with you, and to see if you would like to become an Em-Bush-ador!
What is an Em-Bush-ador?
An Em-Bush-ador is anyone who feels inspired by the project and agrees to make a personal or group response to the Wondering Heights dance or map invitation between:
23rd June – 13th July 2025
(The sooner, the better, to help encourage others by sharing your responses. But anytime in July is great)
Your response could be a photo, a dance, a drawing, a video, a written moment — anything! Once you’ve created your response, you’ll upload it to Lucy Barker’s website to be part of a joyful Mass Movement across the Bradford district and beyond.
You can take part solo or gather some friends, family, or fellow creatives to join you!
How do you sign up?
It’s easy! Simply email Tash, the project producer, at:
natashagproducer@gmail.com
Just say: “Yes, I’d love to be an Em-Bush-ador!” — and you’re in.
Once you’ve signed up…
- Read this handy pdf that has all the info you need.
- Follow Lucy’s social media Instagram (best) or Facebook.
- Watch out for the dance video, launching very soon on Lucy’s website.
- Round up your friends and pick a date to gather in your garden, or out on the moors to recreate the dance.
- Sign up for the free, inclusive dance workshops : https://shorturl.at/Eh3AP

To find out all about the project and all the ways we are inviting participation you can visit the main Wondering Heights Information page, but to save you clicking here’s a quick summary:
About the project:
Wondering Heights is a tiny project with a big, hopeful heart. As part of the Bradford City of Culture 2025 celebrations, it invites everyone to connect with the glorious moorlands around Bradford, inspired by the iconic creative legacies of Emily Brontë and Kate Bush.
With a beautiful hand-drawn map by Chris Goddard, plus fun demo and instructional videos, you’ll have everything you need to create a personal or group response — whether it’s a walk, a dance, a collage, or even a dramatic tea towel wave from bed!
This is your moment to embrace a bit of Bush & Brontë joy — with silliness, creativity, and connection at the heart.
“…research demonstrates that simply imagining rhythmic movement triggers physiological responses similar to actual dancing, including changes in heart rate variability and respiratory patterns.” Dr. Peter Lovatt, Dance Psychologist, University of Hertfordshire
“Gatherings have the power to temporarily transport us to a world created for a specific purpose—where we feel we belong to something larger than ourselves.” Priya Parker, The Art of Gathering
Let’s create something magical together —

Will you be an Em-Bush-ador?
Best Wishes
